Kevin Peter He

DIRECTOR

Kevin Peter He is a storyteller whose interdisciplinary works explore empathy and intersubjectivity between people. His experience growing up between the US and China informs Kevin’s exploration for cultural nuance and context behind the unspoken. He hopes to use his background in film and creative technology to tell uniquely powerful stories by combining the strengths of different mediums, physical and digital, traditional and emerging.

Kevin is a graduate of NYU ITP and USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and is currently the creative director of ZeroSpace, a mixed reality creative studio in Brooklyn. His work was part of The Whitney Museum’s Biennial, Oculus’ Launchpad Program, San Francisco Design Week, and New York City Media Lab’s Future Of Storytelling cohort.

Jessica Shen

WRITER, EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN

Jessica Shen is a Taiwanese-American experience design director based in Brooklyn. She is interested in creating technically complex but soulful experiences through a variety of mediums ranging from digital animation to physical forms. With her multidisciplinary background, she strives to use synergy between image, sound, and movement to curate and elicit emotions that cultivate new perspectives. Jessica has created interactive storytelling experiences at Google Creative Lab, R/GA, and Disney+.

Jessica studied Industrial Design and Computer Science with concentrations in Animation and Sound Design at Carnegie Mellon University. Her work has received accolades including a Cannes Lion Grand Prix in Media, a Webby, and a One Show Award. Her perspectives on the cultural effects of technology in Asia and America have led her to be a featured speaker at leading conferences and institutions globally, including SXSW, Brown/RISD, and Y-Olso.

Winslow Porter

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Winslow Porter is an award-winning director, producer and creative technologist specializing in virtual/augmented reality as well as large-scale immersive installations. Winslow formed the new media studio the New Reality Company in 2016, creating the critically-acclaimed cinematic VR experiences Giant and Tree, which both had their world premieres at Sundance New Frontier. Shortly after, he was named Adweek’s Top 100 creatives as a digital innovator. In 2018, Tree won the Lumiere award for Best Location Based VR Short as well as 7 other notable awards after being shown at over 100 conferences and festivals such as TED, WEF, UN General Assembly and Gardens By The Bay. He is currently a Cultural Leader at the World Economic Forum, a mentor in residence at the New Museum Incubator and NYU Tisch, a member of the Onassis Institute’s ONX art/tech accelerator, as well as a creative director at R/GA Global.

Wesley Chan

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

As a co-founder of the digital production company and popular YouTube Channel, Wong Fu Productions, Wesley Chan has been a strong voice for the Asian American community for over 15 years.

Wesley’s work has been featured at a number of national and international film festivals and awards, including Cannes Film Festival, Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, HBO APA Visionaries, and the San Diego Asian Film Festival.

In addition to writing, directing, and producing a wide range of films, Wesley continues to champion creative expression that can have a positive impact on our lives and our world.

Joyce Keokham

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Joyce Keokham is a writer, director, and producer best described as a storyteller based on earth. As a filmmaker, they enjoy actualizing stories that are rooted in truth, community, and radical self-love. They are especially passionate about platforming QPOC stories without adulteration from routine and uninspired gatekeepers.
Their works have been screened at Frieze Art Fair, Faena Art Festival, Onassis Foundation, Sharjah Art Foundation, Schauspielhaus, Lafayette Anticipations, Hulu, Revry, Asian American Documentary Network, Berlinale, International Film Festival Rotterdam, and more.
Joyce’s directorial debut WYA WYD “Where You At? What You Doin?” is a recipient of the NYC Women’s Fund for Media, Music, and Theatre and won the B Young and Spirit and Being awards from BRIC Arts Media’s Free Speech Award in 2021.

David Woon

PRODUCER

David Woon is a Chinese-American director-producer who loves telling stories about the microcosms of reality. Born and raised in New York City’s Chinatown by Malaysian Taiwanese parents, David seeks to translate his diasporic cultural experience into raw emotional stories. He is a graduate of the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California and a fellow at the Tribeca Film Fellows. David has produced a range of short films, music videos, commercial, mixed-media experiences.

Ricardo Vilar

PRODUCER

Ricardo is a Portuguese film producer and relentless dreamer based in NYC with an everlasting itch to find and tell thought-provoking stories. His last film “Angelfish” premiered at TIFF Next Wave and his next film “PEP” is in post-production and has been produced in collaboration with DiCaprio’s Appian Way. Ricardo is currently working on directing a short film whilst also developing and producing a myriad of immersive stories for XR (VR/AR/MR) platforms.

Lu Zhang

PRODUCER

Lu hails from China and is an NYC based filmmaker with a passion to explore emotions and human connections through the form of storytelling in film. Having produced a handful of short films which got invited to film festivals including Palm Springs International Film Festival, SXSW, FIRST international Film Festival, amongst others. She is currently working on her own story about immigrants and marriage.

Anthony Argento

PRODUCER

Anthony is an Italian-American film producer born into the film world by way of his family’s company Broadway Stages which runs over 75 soundstages in NYC dedicated to Film & TV. Anthony’s creative collaborations led him towards creating his own company Rollin Studios, focusing on producing a wide range of indie films such as Ondi Timoner’s “Mapplethorpe”, Alex Wolff’s “The Cat and the Moon”, and Rob Kolodny’s “Pep”. In addition, he engages in international co-productions such as: “Mojin: The Lost Legend”, “Detective Chinatown 2”, “Lost in Russia” amongst others.

Todd Bryant

TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR

Todd Bryant is an award-winning creative technologist who works across independent art installations, commercial activations, and academia as a Visiting Industry Assistant Professor in the Integrated Digital Media Program at NYU's Tandon School of Engineering.
He is globally recognized as a leading video artist, engineer, and educator with expertise in storytelling through mixed reality and experiential installations. His cutting-edge work and curricula include extensive projects in motion capture, projection mapping, and spatial media experiences. He has provided technical direction for projects that have been installed and exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Burning Man, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Celebrate Brooklyn as well as the immersive programs at leading film festivals like Cannes, Sundance, and Tribeca. He is currently administering an Epic Games MegaGrant to develop virtual production curriculum for workforce development training both online and in-person for the New York City creative coding community.

Shane Liao

Shane is a writer, director, and editor based in New York City. Jason Li is a technical and game designer working in-between bread and code. His work explores how to use technology to create expressive play. Jason is a graduate of Parsons Design & Technology program and currently teaches game design there.

Currently working at Oculus Studios, he came from a game design background with a variety of mobile, console, and VR/AR development. Elias Jarzombek is a musician and programmer based in Brooklyn who develops interfaces for creating music in 'non-musical' ways. He uses these tools, which are often inspired by geometric or physical properties, in his own compositions. He is a member of the band Obstacle.

Nick Gregg

SPATIAL DESIGNER
Nick Gregg specializes in 3D production for virtual experiences. He has an M.P.S from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, B.Arch from UT Austin's School of Architecture and has worked as a VR consultant for NYTimes, as bandleader for Internationally recognized band, Mother Falcon, and currently as the art director for Your Hometown Podcast, produced by Robert Krulwich of Radiolab.

Jeremy A. Leung is a Chinese-Canadian illustrator and art director based in Brooklyn, NY. Using flowing lines and textures, his drawings encompass a wide-range of human emotions and experiences. Jeremy's work has been regularly commissioned by publications such as The New Yorker, The New York Times and The Atlantic. Most recently, he was a jury member with the Society of Illustrators.

Grace is a Korean-American writer-director who uses absurdism and magical realism to explore loneliness. To date, Grace has written and directed five short films which have won awards and screened at festivals nationwide such as the Hamptons International Film Festival, Sidewalk Film Festival, and Tall Grass Film Festival amongst others.
